Our new project at Athens-Clarke County Animal Services!

We're thrilled to unveil a new initiative we've been diligently working on! Through conversations with volunteers and staff members at ACCAS, we've identified a recurring issue: many dogs find themselves back at the shelter shortly after being adopted. Our mission is to break this cycle once and for all. We believe a lack of understanding about dog behavior and breed-specific traits among adopters contributes to this trend. Our goal is to bridge this gap by providing education and facilitating better matches between adopters and dogs, ensuring each finds their perfect fit.

To achieve this, dedicated UGA representatives have been making frequent visits to ACCAS, spending quality time with each dog and compiling detailed notes and captivating pictures. These insights are then transformed into informative flyers, highlighting the unique needs of each dog and what potential adopters can expect. These flyers are going to put on the kennels, allowing the public to gain deeper insights into each dog's personality and requirements. Below are is an example of one of these informative flyers in action.
